Microsoft's settlement offer for private lawsuits rejected |
The US District Court has refused to approve a settlement deal between Microsoft and more than 100 private anti-trust lawsuits. The suits claim that Microsoft overcharged millions of users for its software, and was to be settled by a US$1 billion (AUS$1.89 billion) donation by Microsoft to poor US schools in the form of training, software and computers. The settlement was rejected because it would not have been fair and would have allowed Microsoft to dominate educational software and hardware. |
