HIH insurance applications close |
If you hold an HIH insurance policy and want to lodge a claim, you have another 6 months to 27 February 2004 to lodge an application with the HIH Claims Support Scheme. |
During the 2 years the Scheme has been running, the Government has paid nearly $245 million to policyholders. In recent times the number of applications has declined and the current process is no longer cost effective. The Scheme will continue to be managed by an outsourced claims manager after the cut off date. |
You can still make an application after the cut off date if you hold a policy and can prove that you did not know, or could not reasonably have known, that you had a right to claim under an HIH policy. |
