Mark completed his legal studies in 1994 and has over 15 years direct and indirect insolvency experience. Apart from holding senior commercial roles with a number of publically listed companies and a major financier, Mark was employed directly within the insolvency profession for a number of years.
He worked with Hugh Thomas and the late John Walker at Walker Wayland, Chartered Accountants. During that time Mark gained first hand experience with a wide range of formal and informal insolvency appointments including:
- Court appointed liquidations
- Creditor and Member's Voluntary liquidations
- Receiverships on behalf of major banks
- Receiverships of the trust accounts of legal practitioners
- Voluntary Administrations
- Investigating Accountants reports, and
- Personal Bankruptcies

| Mark’s commercial career has seen him involved at management level in both secured and unsecured lending and credit risk analysis and management, wholesale and retail lending and security enforcement with Toyota Financial Services. This role involved receivables management, debt recovery and where necessary, the appointment of investigating accountants and/or receivers. |
He has also held commercial management roles with Capral Aluminium Ltd and Brambles Industrial Services. |
Mark brings this breadth of experience to the Clark McNamara Insolvency Practice Group. Mark is the Insolvency Practice Group Leader and also holds an Economics degree majoring in Accounting. Mark is admitted to the NSW Supreme Court. |
